The CPCS A09 Forward Tipping Dumper training course involves both practical and theory tests for successful completion. This will enable candidates to attain a Red Trained Operators Card, which is valid for two years and available for upgrade to a Blue CPCS Competence Card on completion of a Level 2 SQA qualification.
Full novice course 3 days with theory and practical test on 3rd day
Intermediate course 1 days training am followed by test pm
Test only available for experienced operators

Prerequisite: Health and safety operatives touch screen test within last 2 years Photo I.D
Theory test time: 1hour (2hrs if an interpreter is required)
Practical test time: 1 hour

Course Content for novice course
Day One:
· Site induction, CPCS explanation and expectations.
· Revision of CPCS theory knowledge questions.
· Relevant Health & Safety legislation.
· Roles and responsibilities of the FTD driver.
· Preparation for CPCS Theory Tests.
Day Two:
· Pre-start checks and configuration.
· Safe positioning and manoeuvring of the vehicle.
· Awareness of other hazards and users on site.
· Limitations, hazards and stability factors.
· Position to receive loads.
· Travelling over rough terrain.
· Transferring loads to different locations.
· Discharging loads into trenches and over edges.
· Preparation for CPCS Practical Test.
Day Three:
· CPCS Theory Test and Practical Test
